OSU Conditional Admissions

Students can now qualify for conditional admissions to Oklahoma State University through the English Language Institute.

Prospective students should complete the separate OSU undergraduate or graduate application. ELI staff will be happy to advise you and help you in this process.

 

Undergraduate Conditional Admissions

Students with a TOEFL iBT: 48+, TOEFL ITP: 460+ *, or IELTS: 5.0+ and GPA average of 3.0+ qualify for conditional undergraduate admissions at Oklahoma State University!

Once you’re conditionally admitted, you never have to submit another IELTS or IBT test score. Instead, you will be placed in our advanced-level study for 12-16 weeks. When you successfully pass all your classes with an 75% average with no individual grade under 70%, you can immediately begin working on your OSU degree.

Along with improving your English, you will also learn all about Oklahoma State University and America by participating in a number of activities and programs such as:

  • Day trips to Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
  • Holiday Parties and Celebrations.
  • On-campus Activities.
  • Classroom Visits.
  • Guest Speakers.

Funding may be available! The Hugh Rouk English Language Learning Scholarship was created to help OSU-bound students who are not funded by their government, employer, or another scholarship program. This may help with the costs of your education.

Graduate Provisional Admission

Graduate students with a TOEFL iBT: 61+, TOEFL ITP: 500+ *; IELTS: 5.5+ qualify for provisional admissions to many graduate programs at Oklahoma State University including:

A provisionally admitted student never has to submit another IELTS or IBT test score. Instead, they are placed in our advanced level, study for 12-16 weeks, successfully pass all their classes with an 75% GPA with no individual grade under 70%, and then begin working on their degree program.

OSU General Language Proficiency Requirements

Concerning Oklahoma State University’s English proficiency, the requirements are as follows:


UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS

    TOEFL iBT: 61+; IELTS: 5.5+; TOEFL PBT: 500+; TOEFL ITP: 500+ *

GRADUATE ADMISSIONS

    TOEFL iBT: 79+; IELTS: 6.5+; TOEFL PBT 550+; TOEFL ITP 550+ *
        Some departments (such as English) require considerably higher English Language Proficiency scores

 * Only TOEFL ITP exams administered at Oklahoma State University’s English Language Institute are accepted.
